New Retirees cannot enroll in benefits online.
*During Annual Enrollment with Bankers Life and Casualty Company (health coverage only) online enrollment is available.

COBRA application form (18 months of coverage) will be mailed to the retiree after active benefits have been terminated.

Retiree (Age 65+) application form underwritten by Bankers Life and Casualty Company will be mailed to the retiree once the South Dakota Retirement System provides the Benefits Program a list of new retirees who will be receiving a monthly retirement benefit.

Retiree has 60 days from the date active benefits terminate to return the COBRA application form(s) and 31 days to return the Retiree (Age 65+) application form(s).
